DYZC is a spiritual, no-nonsense retreat center (ashram) that seeks practical solutions, based on real experiences rather than religious dogma. Self-responsibility, honesty, integrity, transparency and care for each other are foundational values.

We study, practice and integrate yoga and Zen infused with regenerative living inspired by permaculture and the flexitarian method along with mindfulness actions. We seek to involve the local community with our practices of The Yoga Lifestyle.

We offer a safe home to unlearn our limiting conditioning, and learn how to live a joyful life including, art, yummy nutrition, dance and philosophy programs to realize our full potential.

The curriculum includes asana, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, Ayurveda, food/nutrition, the yoga lifestyle, and more, plus Yoga Alliance RYT eligibility. The Doron Yoga Ashtanga Vinyasa teacher training program is a life-changing, growth and transformational opportunity. When you grow as an individual, learn about yourself, deepen your practice, and become an example for others, you naturally develop into a great teacher and a better person. Doron is a Certified 550 hour Yoga Teacher (ERYT), Director of Hanoch Headshot.jpgthe Doron Yoga School (RYS 200 and 500), and Founder and CEO of the Doron Yoga & Zen Center at Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. He was introduced to Yoga and Meditation in 1992 while traveling and studying in the Far East for 2 years. During that time, Doron has studied at the Osho Ashram, with the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, in Thailand doing Vipassana retreats, and in Japan living and working with a Buddhist priest.

Accommodation includes 5-6 bed dorms, with western-style toilets and stone showers with hot water. Our Casa Lotus shared room and all double and single rooms have pillow-top mattresses. Original artwork adds our personalized touch to the natural, cozy, rustic wood and stone rooms

Your vegetarian meals are designed by Doron, who worked as a chef at the most prestigious Raw Food restaurant in New York. This is not your typical ashram food. The vegetarian meals are fully balanced as well as nutritious, and will keep you satisfied throughout the day for all of your activities. You can also buy extra healthy snacks and drinks, e.g. smoothie, bliss balls and kombucha.
