What is an 'Experience Host'?

An experience host is someone who offers a specialized experience, lessons or travel adventure. All experience hosts are required to include accommodation as part of their experience package.

The experiences can come in a wide variety of categories including:

  • Meditation Retreats
  • Yoga/Surf Camps
  • Culinary/Photography/Dance Lessons
  • Scuba Diving, Skiing, Adventure Travel
  • Tours
  • Etc...

If you host an experience that isn't currently included, please feel free to contact us and inquire.

How can I become an 'Experience Host'?

The requirements are quite simple. Your experience must include accommodations and you must be prepared to meet the needs of travelers. To ensure quality, all experience hosts must be approved by our administration.

To become a host you must simply sign up with Hovos, complete a profile and be approved.

What does it cost?

There is no fee to sign up as an experience host. Hovos takes a commission ONLY when you book a traveler. (See below for more details.)

You choose what to charge a traveler per day for their experience with you.

How do I sign up?

The sign-up process is simple. When you click the "Sign Up" button, you will be presented with 3 options. Once you choose 'Experience' you'll be prompted to create an account and then fill out your profile.

It is important to include as much information as possible so that your profile will be approved. To view an example profile click here.

How do I book travelers?

Once you have an active profile it will appear in our 'Experience Host Category' as well as search results. We will promote host profiles on our social media and in advertisements. It is important to keep your profile as professional and detailed as possible for best results.

When a traveler is interested in booking with you, they will be able to send a booking inquiry from your profile. If you can accommodate their travel dates, they will be sent a bill for the full amount. (Your daily rate) x (Number of days they are staying with you) = (Total Charges)

How do payments work?

travelers will pay for the experience through our secure payment system. Funds will be held until the travelers' arrival date (in case of cancellation). The payment, minus a 10% commission, will then be deposited directly into your chosen account. (Bank or Paypal)

Are there reviews?

Yes, absolutely. To ensure quality all travelers will be given the option to review their hosts following their trip.
